Fire in the Field -- Prescribed burns in Illinois

Farmers, landowners, natural resource managers, and others are invited to learn more about how fire can be used to manage natural resource areas that contain various grassland habitats and wetlands.

This event will be in two parts. The first is open to anyone through a 1-hour live Zoom webinar in late January 2026. This program will be recorded and can be viewed on the Smart Wetlands YouTube page the following day on the Smart Wetlands YouTube Channel at:

The field portion will be held at least one day after the webinar at a Smart Wetland near the town of Saunemin in Livingston County, Illinois.
